Dr. Laura Mokhtari's journey into veterinary care began in Virginia, where she was born and raised. After completing her undergraduate degree at George Mason University, she pursued her passion at St. George's University College of Veterinary Medicine, on the picturesque island of Grenada, graduating in 2010. Her clinical training continued at Iowa State University, marking a pivotal step in her education.
Making Tennessee her home since 2010, Dr. Mokhtari finds joy in spending time with her husband, her loyal dogs Lucy and Lily, and her talkative African Grey parrot Ollie. Traveling with her husband is another shared love, and they're eagerly looking forward to their next adventure. Beyond her veterinary pursuits, Dr. Mokhtari has a penchant for building plastic model kits, reflecting her diverse interests.
To further enhance her practice, Dr. Mokhtari became Fear Free Certified in 2019, demonstrating her commitment to reducing stress and anxiety for her patients. With a strong belief in the power of food rewards and medications to create a positive experience, she is an advocate for a trauma-free visit.
A proud member of both the American Veterinary Medical Association and The Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Mokhtari graduated from the TVMA's Power of Ten Leadership Course in 2019. With over a decade of experience in general and mobile practice, her dedication to compassionate care shines through every interaction.
